“Sugar” Sand between your toes

Anna Maria Island has over seven miles of beaches to explore, but finding the perfect beach for you is important for having the ultimate island experience. Both of Dans Florida Condos are located directly across the street from the beach.  We offer two deeded access points to the Private Beaches for your family’s enjoyment. You’ll find the north access point the safest for crossing as there is a traffic signaled crosswalk for your convenience.

If you are looking to socialize a bit more, you are a free trolley ride away from two of Anna Maria Island’s most popular beaches.

COQUINA BEACH is located along the south end of Anna Maria Island running up the gulf side. This popular beach has tons of parking, grill and picnic areas, playground, lifeguard, bathrooms, trolley stop, concessions, and an absolutely gorgeous walking/bike path running along the sea oat sand dunes.

MANATEE PUBLIC BEACH is perhaps the island’s most popular, and therefore, busiest of beach spots. With just about all the amenities you could want for the beach, Manatee Public Beach is an island hot spot. Located at the very end of west Manatee Avenue, this public beach offers tons of free parking, lifeguards, bathrooms, showers, gift shops, concessions, changing rooms, free trolley and public bus stop, volley ball nets, tourist information, picnic tables under shady Australian Pines and a fabulously sandy PLAYGROUND for the kids. This Beach Access is truly the heart of the island beach scene.

Relaxation by the pool

Dans Florida Condos are nested centrally, within the award winning Runaway Bay Complex.  Without a doubt, one of the gems of our property is our Pool.  The pool is the largest heated/salt water pool on the entire island.  Enjoy sun lounging chairs, tables with umbrellas, and security controlled entry to ensure only those registered at the complex are sunbathing in your company. Both of my units are located directly around the corner from the pool, so making a trip to refresh a cold beverage is easy peasy!

Being active on the island

While some relax on vacation, others like to explore.  What better place to explore than along the shores of a 7 mile paradise island.  Bike lanes border the Northbound and Southbound Gulf Drive. In addition, there are various bike paths alongside the beach, one of your host favorite is on the southern end of the island heading towards Longboat Key.  There are countless rental agencies on the island to rent bicycles, mopeds, and even segways.  Water sports of all kind including parasailing, boating, fishing excursions, snorkeling, and dolphin/manatee tours are available.

Experience firsthand what “Old Florida” really means

Unlike similar sunset celebrations in Florida tourist meccas such as Miami, Naples, or Key West, there are no rowdy crowds, wall-to-wall bars or panhandlers. Also absent on Anna Maria are high-rise condos and chain hotels. You’ll have to drive off-island for a McDonald’s or Starbucks fix. Instead you’ll find quaint beachside resturants often run by locals and family members who have run their establishments from one family generation to the next.  There is also a zoning limit of 3 stories on building upward, so goodbye skyscraper lined beaches!

Anna Maria Island is home to hundreds of artists, many of whom show their work in local art galleries or take classes on the island. During the winter/spring season, many gallery walks, outdoor art festivals and juried art shows are offered. … Anna Maria Island artists support each other and love sharing their talents with visitors from the globe that visit their piece of heaven.
